Nelida Velazquez

I’ve spent 16 years building software across Mexico, the US, and Germany, from backend services and event-driven architectures to web development and mobile applications. But what has shaped me most isn’t the tech stack, it has been my teams.

Whenever I think about my previous experiences, my biggest lessons and what deeply moves me is remembering the people I worked with and the things I learned from them.

I’m the kind of engineer who thinks in technology but remembers the humans: how we collaborate, how we reason about complexity and how we grow together.

The problems that interest me most sit at the intersection of technology, communication, and decision making.

My leadership approach is steady and intentional. I listen carefully and help teams navigate constraints with clarity. I’m drawn to engineering cultures that are thoughtful, honest, and grounded in psychological safety, curiosity, and continuous growth.

Beyond the code, I’m passionate about art, sharing knowledge, and tacos. 🌮

If you believe great engineering is as much about people as it is about technology, we’ll probably get along.
